In 1913, she moved with her family to Templeton, Iowa and in 1920 to Sublimity, Oregon. Loretta received most of her schooling while living in Oregon. In 1927, she moved with her family to a farm near Redwood Falls. Loretta was the eldest of five children and, even as a child, helped cook for the threshers at threshing time.

She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters for over 60 years. Loretta was particularly good at knitting and crocheting. Praying the Rosary was an important part of her life.
Loretta became a resident of Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in April 2003.
Loretta is survived by her sister-in-law Leona Fangmann of Redwood Falls and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Lawrence, Aloysius, and Arnold; and her sister Rosina Hanslik.
Blessed be her memory.
