Glenn D. Lienig

 

Glenn D. Lienig, 74, of Morgan went to join the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2008 from Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008, from 4 until 8 p.m., with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services. The Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Morgan is handling the arrangements.

Glenn Donald Lienig, the son of Walter and Esther (Nielsen) Lienig, was born September 24, 1933 at their home in Morgan. He served his country as a member of the United States Army, in Germany, from 1955 until 1957.

On November 14, 1959, Glenn married Lucille Fidler and they raised three children. Glenn spent many years in the construction industry in the Morgan area and most recently worked at Wildt’s alpaca farm where every animal was his friend. Glenn was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan and worked many years as an usher for the Men’s Sausage Dinner.

Glenn’s family, friends, his dog Daisy, and his pets will miss him very much. Glenn is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille Lienig of Morgan; his children Theresa, Melanie (Bill), and Donald (Denise); his grandchildren Alica (Nick) Forstner, Gary (Alanna), Danielle, Christine, Cassandra, Cort, and Ben; and great-grandchildren Caleb and Joshua Forstner, and Brianna Lienig.
